Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke concedes they face losing Jude Bellingham next year.
The Germans would like to keep him another season, but are also aware of the bids that will soon arrive from the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Watzke admits they hope to convince Bellingham to sign a new contract.
He said, "We will ask him if he wants to leave or not...
"But if the big clubs arrive we will not be able to afford an economic war. We will still have talks with Bellingham one once the World Cup is over."
