Burnley midfielder Westwood: We're more than capable of staying up

Burnley midfielder Ashley Westwood believes the club can survive this season.

The Clarets are still battling to avoid relegation from the Premier League, and sit in 17th spot with a six point advantage over the teams below them.

They had hoped to get a point out of a game at Old Trafford against Manchester United on Sunday, but eventually fell to a 3-1 defeat.

"We came here with great confidence. We usually do well here. It was another good performance, but we couldn't quite see it out," Westwood told the club's website.

"When we need performances we usually put them in. We've got the last bit of the season now and we will put in the hard yards.

"We are playing well, that's the main thing. We are creating chances and scoring goals and we know we can keep clean sheets.

"It's all in our hands and six points is a big gap when you're down there.

"There aren't many games to go. It's in our hands and if we continue with performances like that, we're more than capable."
