Burnley midfielder Chris McCann is facing a lengthy spell out after twisting his knee in their victory over Sunderland.

The Clarets fear McCann will be sidelined for a couple of months - although there may have to be a 'scope' on his knee to establish the full damage.

Owen Coyle will give Scottish midfield Kevin McDonald the chance to show he can replace McCann in the Carling Cup clash with Barnsley tomorrow when he will also bring in five or six fringe players.
