Burnley chief Garlick delighted with summer transfers

Burnley chief Mike Garlick believes the club can be satisfied with their summer dealings.

The Clarets brought in Danny Drinkwater, Erik Pieters, Jay Rodriguez and Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Garlick said: "Each year the madness if the transfer window grows and some of the fees now involved for players are absolutely astronomical.

"We've all seen some of the numbers being reported this summer and for some clubs that simply isn't an issue.

"However we operate differently and we've worked diligently, as ever, to identify our targets in this ever-changing landscape.

"That's resulted in success and frustration in equal measure along the way but following our deadline day business one thing is clear; we have strengthened the squad which was our primary aim.

"We always aim to end a window stronger than when it opens and we believe we have the players who do that.

"The one thing I do know without question is that we can count on Sean, his staff and all the players to give their all to continue to help us achieve our goals."
