Burnley boss Kompany: Villa defeat the most I've felt frustrated

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany was left frustrated after their defeat at Aston Villa.

The Clarets appeared to have earned a point before Douglas Luiz converted from the spot on 89 minutes.

Kompany said, "Today's probably the most frustrated I've felt you know, because I have to take a lot of pride in how the team play, but the team's been doing that for a while now.

"I'm extremely proud of the team, I always am to be fair and they give me that and the frustration is just because you are doing exactly what you need to do in games like this to come away with something.

"But in terms of how we get results it's frustrating to see how this game actually plays out. I can't get away from the feeling that the game could be managed better."

Kompany added: "The Burnley fans can be very proud of the players tonight and I said to the players, it won't make sense from anyone on the outside, but I think I'm the proudest manager in the league because every single day they put the hard work in.

"No doubt about it, they will bounce back and they'll brush it off and they keep going and that's something special we have within the club, that we have to keep going.

"There's things we did really well and things we can do better going forward but the team is exciting, it's an exciting team to work with."
