Burnley board unmoved on Kompany position after poor start

Burnley's board are standing by manager Vincent Kompany.

The Clarets are enduring their worst season start in 52 years, but the board retains faith in the Belgian, says the Daily Mail.

Burnley chairman Alan Pace made £100m available to Kompany over the summer, but they have picked up only four points from ten games so far this season.

They only had fewer points (three) in 1970-71, when they were relegated from the top flight.

Despite the backing, Kompany recognises he needs to deliver results quickly to ease the pressure on Pace.

Burnley meet Everton in the Carabao Cup fourth round tonight.
