Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard is eyeing a move to the Premier League.

The Sun says Maynard's contract runs out the end of the season, with Everton and Fulham waiting in the wings should talks on a new deal stall.

The striker - 25 next week - said: "Am I ready to test myself in the Premier League? I like to think so.

"I'm never going to know until I try it. I've spent four seasons in the Championship and scored three in the last three games. I like to believe I've done fairly well and would like to try myself a bit higher.

"There have been a few clubs mentioned but it's just rumours at the moment. The gaffer's told me not to let it affect me, whatever will be will be."
