Brighton striker Evan Ferguson insists playing for England was never an option for him.

The Republic of Ireland international, 19, has an English mother, but was never tempted.

"No no no. I think that will never happen. It's not even a question," said Ferguson to TalkSPORT.

"I'm Irish. There isn't much else to say about it. I have been asked about it quite a few times if I would, but no. I'm Irish."

Ferguson has scored three goals in eight games for Ireland.
