Brighton have publicly denied reports that Chelsea have reached an agreement for Marc Cucurella.

The Spanish left-back has been targeted by Chelsea and Manchester City this summer.

Multiple outlets in the UK reported on Wednesday that Chelsea had agreed to pay £52.5m to sign 24-year-old.

However, Brighton have quickly moved to deny those claims.

It read: "CLUB STATEMENT: MARC CUCURELLA. Contrary to inaccurate reports from numerous media outlets this evening, no agreement has been reached with any club to sell Marc Cucurella."

The statement was posted on Brighton's official club website.
