Brighton manager Hughton remains hellbent on striker signing

Brighton manager Chris Hughton wants a striker in the January transfer window and insists it is his main priority.

The Seagulls have struggled for goals following their promotion the Premier League, with Glen Murray their current top scorer with 6.

When asked if signing a forward is essential he said: "I think it has to be.

"We've had a bit of a difficult time of late, which is normal. Nobody expected an easy ride.

"We've found it difficult to get the goals we need, but that's down to a contribution from everyone in the team.

"We did try in the summer and we'll continue to do that."

They have recently failed in a bid to sign Roma's Maxime Gonalons according to reports, and have also been linked with a move for Emiliano Sala, who plays for FC Nantes in France.
