Brighton manager De Zerbi: Europe now our target; Solly should be proud

Brighton manager Robeto De Zerbi has outlined his aims for the rest of the season.

De Zerbi, whose side were beaten on penalties in the FA Cup semi final against Manchester United on Sunday, still has a lot to play for this season.

The Italian coach knows his team can qualify for European football through the Premier League if they maintain their recent form.

He told reporters: "We want to achieve our target and reach a European place. We have a lot of motivation to do it. We have analysed Sunday. To get big results against big teams, you need some luck and we didn't get any. We played a fantastic game and did our best.

"We can change the history of the club in these last nine games. We haven't had too much time to prepare for Forest but we need to arrive at our maximum, it will be a very tough game. We are ready to fight."

He then added on Solly March, who was the only player to miss a penalty in the shoot out against United at Wembley: "Solly has reacted very well. Today we got back to training and the feeling is good among the players.

"You can score or make mistakes in penalties, Solly has to be proud. We love him and we support him, especially when we lose."

Finally, he spoke about youngster Evan Ferguson possibly signing a new contract: "He is very important for us, and he can keep improving a lot.

"He's still young, he's still just 18 - we can't forget that. He has been playing very well and we missed him on Sunday, he has different qualities."
