Brighton have stepped up their interest in Angers striker Karl Toko Ekambi.

The Seagulls are desperate to land an attacker in this month's transfer window given their paltry total of 17 goals for the season, good for third worst in the league.

Celtic's Moussa Dembele and Deportivo La Coruna's Florentin Andone have also been touted as potential signings.

According to the Argus, Ekambi is the south coast club's preferred option and they prepared to offer £12.4 million for the 25-year-old.
