Uruguay U20 World Cup captain Fabricio Diaz is a target for Brighton.
The midfielder was expected to join Barcelona after the Argentina-based tournament earlier this year, but remains at home with Liverpool de Montevideo.
TMW says Brighton are now making their move.
The Seagulls have offered €8.5m for Diaz and Liverpool are close to accepting.
