Brighton goalkeeper Verbruggen recognises personal importance of Liverpool clash

Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen has extra motivation to ensure his team can perform at Anfield against Liverpool.

Verbruggen and his teammates know they have to push to finish in a European position again.

As the Netherlands star looks to book his Euro 2024 spot, he hopes to have a big game against Liverpool this weekend.

Speaking on international duty, Verbruggen said: “Every game I play from now until the European Championships is just super important for my club and for convincing the national coach that I am the man for the summer.

"I go back to my club and pick up where we left off."

Verbruggen did play the last time the two teams met, a 2-2 draw at the Albion earlier this season.
