Brighton defender Lewis Dunk was relieved to reach the FA Cup semifinals after their penalty shootout victory over Millwall.

Albion recovered from 2-0 down to claim a 2-2 draw, before eventually coming out on top 5-4 on penalties in sudden death after Glenn Murray missed the initial spot-kick.

He said, “We knew it was a tough place to come in the FA Cup and their record over the last few years here has been excellent.

“It's always difficult with their style of play, and we did it the hard way. Even when it got to penalties by missing the first one, but we got there in the end.

“You've always got to have faith and thankfully Jurgen [Locadia] got that one at the end which gave us a boost. Once we got that one, it gets harder for them.

“We've been on the other end of it, and it's hard. The ball seems to be sucked into your box and Solly [March] whipped another one into the top corner."

The Seagulls academy graduate expressed his pride after scoring what turned out to be the winning penalty.

“I've been here since I was a little boy and it's great to be in the semi-final of the FA Cup. With the great competition that it is and to be representing my hometown club is amazing. It will be a brilliant day for the whole family.

“It's a different experience. My England debut was an amazing occasion that I'll never forget, but I won't forget this one either for different reasons. Hopefully we get the right result.

“I've always had it in my locker [scoring the penalty]! It's my first-ever penalty and hopefully I'm on the gaffer's radar for the next one. We'll see what happens."
