Brentford midfielder Jensen delighted with derby win: Fulham made it tough

Brentford midfielder Mathias Jensen was delighted after their 3-2 derby win against Fulham last night.

However, despite describing it as a 'massive win' against the Bees' local rivals, the 27-year-old admitted that conceding twice on Monday night was frustrating.

"It was a massive win," said Jensen. "I was a little bit disappointed that we conceded two goals, I think we could have done a lot better in those situations, but the most important thing was the win."

When asked about the midfield battle, he added: “It was tough. We know Fulham are good on the ball, but we also know that they're not on the best off the ball, so we knew that we would have periods running and defending.

“Even though they probably had the ball a bit more, I don't think we conceded too many chances and I think we created quite a few chances, so that was good."

Jensen was keen to highlight the atmosphere created by the Bees supporters at the Gtech Community Stadium, and believes it helped the players get off to a good start.

“The atmosphere out here was amazing, we could feel it straight away from the start. We started the game very well," said the Dane.

“Maybe the last 25 minutes of the first half, we were a bit on the back foot, but then in the second half I think we showed the class."

Jensen added: “I think you can easily feel that [the fans] are just ready for a game like this. They always do very well, but you can feel like there was a bit more today.

“It's a fantastic game to be part of and I think the fans were incredible."

The Dane scored his fourth goal of the season against the Cottagers, as he tucked a Kevin Schade cross through the legs of Bernd Leno.

On his finish, he told the club's website: "We got the ball high up the pitch and the ball found its way out to Kevin and we know he is so fast, so it was just about getting into the box when he got the ball.

“Fortunately, there was space for the cut-back and he found me very well, so I'm happy."
