Brentford have made an attempt for Tottenham fullback Djed Spence.
The London Evening Standard says Tottenham have rejected Brentford's loan bid for Spence as the offer included a purchase obligation in the deal.
With Pedro Porro expected to join from Sporting before the end of the transfer window, Spurs have given the green light for Spence to leave the club on loan until the end of the season.
But they will insist that any deal does not include an option or obligation to buy the England U-21 international.
Southampton, Leicester and Ligue 1 side Lyon are also interested in Spence, who has been restricted to just four substitute appearances in the Premier League since joining Spurs from Middlesbrough in the summer, totalling less than 10 minutes.
