Bournemouth are hoping to secure the signing of Matt Ritchie from Newcastle United.

Ritchie has played for the Cherries before, helping them to win promotion to the Premier League several years ago.

They attempted to sign him recently, but wages were an issue in the deal, per the Chronicle Live.

It is possible Bournemouth will now attempt a loan offer for the 30-year-old versatile midfielder.

Ritchie is not first choice at Newcastle, but their manager Steve Bruce recently said he wants the player to stay.
