Bournemouth captain Simon Francis believes the club were deserving winners against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in midweek.

Not only did the club get all three points at the champions home, but they managed it with a convincing 3-0 victory. And captain Francis does not want people to forget that.

"People may look at the result and think we got lucky but anyone who watched the game will know we deserved it," Francis said.

"We were ecstatic with the win but didn't go over the top. It wasn't as if we nicked it 1-0 and it was backs to the wall, like in our first season when we won there.

"We were excellent. Our game plan was to go after them from the start and we did. It was a deserved win and right up there with the biggest we have had."
