Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma is a target for Villarreal.
Ell Periódico Mediterráneo says Villarreal boss Quique Setien is a fan.
The Spanish side would be able to discuss and potentially agree terms with Lerma from January 1 onwards thanks to the midfielder's expiring deal, meaning Cherries may not recuperate any of the £28million club record fee they paid Levante for his services in 2018.
Although previous head coach Scott Parker stated back in August that Cherries and Lerma were “in talks" regarding a new deal, there has been no update on the situation since.
Lerma has played just shy of 100 games in Spain, featuring in La Liga 59 times.
