Bournemouth duo Tavernier, Solanke delighted with victory at Southampton

Bournemouth players were delighted after their 1-0 win at Southampton.

The result took them seven points clear of the dropzone.

Striker Dominic Solanke said: "I think we've been on a great run recently. Last week wasn't a great game and we wanted to bounce back and that's what we did.

"The results we have got recently we have the right to be confident. Last game we let our standards slip but we knew we would put it right and that's exactly what we did."

Matchwinner Marcus Tavernier also stated: "We know it's a big three points for us and that's what we want to do. Every point matters and happy to get the three and move up the table, yeah definitely.

"We knew coming back from the international break we had to do it [improve] and that's what we have done. I think it's just the manager drilling into us to play a certain way. You see that in how we play and the defence keeping clean sheets gives us attackers freedom to go and make things happen."
