Premiership target Jay Bothroyd is putting all contract talk to one side to simply concentrate on scoring and creating goals for Cardiff. The 28-year-old will see his current deal expire next summer and has not been offered new terms yet by the Bluebirds.

While the forward has been linked with Premier League outfits Aston Villa, Stoke and Birmingham, he insists he simply wants to concentrate on events on the pitch, after he notched a double against Doncaster on Saturday.

Bothroyd told the South Wales Echo: "I've not been offered a contract.

"I don't know if they are going to offer me one.

"I'm not on the board or anything so I don't know. It's down to them.

"I'm not in talks. All I can do is keep playing well and see what happens, but that (a new deal) hasn't happened yet.

"I am just concentrating on my football. I'm enjoying it. I love Cardiff and I love the fans.

"I owe a lot to Cardiff for giving me a stage to express myself.

"I'm thinking about my next game. I'm not thinking about things long-term or contracts."

Bothroyd has already scored four goals this season but insists he wants to do much more as well.

"Last season I scored 13 goals and had 13 assists so I contributed to 26 goals and I'm happy with that," said Bothroyd.

"It's not just about me scoring 20 goals and giving nothing else to the team.

"I want to be an all-round forward. I want to help my team-mates whether that be with goals or assists or causing havoc in defences.

"That goes for everyone here. We are not thinking about who will finish top scorer."
