Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho honoured to play in Rooney farewell game

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has paid tribute to England teammate Wayne Rooney after last night's farewell international.

England's record goalscorer made his 120th and final cap in the Three Lions' 3-0 victory over USA.

Sancho made his first start for the national team and also set up Trent Alexander-Arnold's goal but that wasn't his favourite moment of the night.

He said: "It was a very proud moment for me and my family. I just got to thank all the coaches for giving me the opportunity and hopefully many more [caps].

"What stood out? Probably being on the pitch with Wayne Rooney. I'm really happy to be on the pitch with him.

"He is a great role model to us youngsters and we all have to look up to him because he is a great professional and hopefully I will be like him one day."
