Bolton Wanderers are set to sign Aston Villa fullback Alan Hutton.

Paul Lambert admitted last week that the 29-year-old defender was not playing for Villa because of financial rather than footballing reasons.

Hutton, who is contracted to Villa until summer 2015, is discussing a switch to the Championship with the Trotters, to temporarily end his frustration.
