Everton have tried their best to nab Basel striker Dan Ndoye away from Bologna in the past week.
The Toffees are eager to sign forwards for manager Sean Dyche, while they are also operating on a limited budget.
Per Tuttomercatoweb, Everton did try to sign Ndoye for a modest fee, but he had committed to Bologna.
The Italians will now complete a deal for the Swiss international for €9 million plus €2 million in add-ons.
While Ndoye is tempted by the Premier League, he feels a move to Serie A is more prudent at this stage of his career.
He wants to improve his game and then take on the immense challenge of England's top flight.
