Blackburn Rovers midfielder Brett Emerton believes the club will improve greatly in their next campaign.
The Lancashire club narrowly escaped relegation from the Premier League last term but with a full pre-season under new boss Steve Kean, who took over from Sam Allardyce in December, Emerton feels that a move up the table is in order.
The Socceroos veteran is well aware Blackburn is not the prettiest team to watch but he is confident that all the players can gel properly under Kean and get improved results.
"We had a style of play which probably wasn't the most entertaining to watch or pleasing on the eye but it got results and each and every player knew what their job was," he said in an interview with au,fourfourtwo.com.
"It takes time for a new manager to implement his ideas, the way he wants to play and for the players to understand that.
"After Sam left we found it a little bit tough and didn't get the results that the performances deserved at times. But we ended up safe from relegation and the new manager has got some good ideas and a nice style of football so I'm really looking forward to the next season."
