Blackburn Rovers remain keen on Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel.

The Daily Mail says the 41-year-old American goalkeeper faces a battle to be Spurs' first choice stopper with summer signing Hugo Lloris challenging him for the role.

Henning Berg would love to bring Friedel, who was benched for the Barclays Premier League clash with Everton on Sunday, to Ewood Park to help his side's promotion bid.

Andre Villas-Boas has moved to block the potential transfer and Friedel wants to keep playing at his current side, rather than returning to his former club.
