Bielsa's Leeds thump Championship favourites Stoke

Leeds United made a flying start to a new Championship season as they outclassed one of competition's favourites, Stoke City, 3-1 in the season opener.

The home side was two goals up already after the first half. Mateusz Klich scored the opening goal after 15 minutes of play before Pablo Hernandez doubled the lead in the stoppage time.

England keeper Jack Butland helped Hernandez though with a poor save that couldn't stop the ball on their way to the top corner.

Liam Cooper put the game to bed with a second half header just five minutes after Benik Afobe revived the hopes of the Stoke fans when he scored a penalty in the 52nd minute.

Next week, Leeds take on Derby County while Stoke host Brentford.
