Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is on the verge of joining Schalke, according to Sky Sports.

The 21-year-old Algerian is currently on a season-long loan at the Bundesliga team and it is understood that the fee is around £16m.

Sky believe that his expected 20th appearance for the club, due to be against Cologne this Sunday, would trigger a clause that would make the move permanent.
