Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has held initial discussions with about his and the club's future, revealing further negotiations are scheduled for next week.

"We've had conversations and we will have conversations next week," said the Spaniard.

"My representatives are speaking with [managing director] Lee Charnley and that's it, but I will not say anything else about that because I want to focus on football and the game."

When asked what the negotiations were focused on, he added: "Everything. But, that is part of the conversation next week and obviously, I'm telling you now because a lot of people want to know, but I will not talk too much about that because we will have another meeting and we will see what's going on."

"I think it's good for everybody [to have things resolved quickly]."
