Benfica have signed Argentina striker Eduardo Salvio on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid.

The forward only signed for the Spanish club in January on a five-and-a-half-year deal from Lanus but found opportunities limited at the Vicente Calderon.

Salvio had been linked with several suitors but opted for the Portuguese champions and was presented in Lisbon yesterday.
