Beckham out of England's friendly with Brazil

David Beckham has had to pull out of this weekend's international friendly between England and Brazil in Qatar.

The 34-year old midfielder will be required to remain in Los Angeles as the LA Galaxy take on Houston Dynamo in the MLS Western Conference final for a chance to go through to the MLS Cup Final.

Beckham was instrumental in helping the Galaxy net the only goal of the game, a penalty converted by Landon Donovan, but was substituted soon after for precautionary reasons with a lower back injury.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star, who will link up with AC Milan for a second loan stint in January, was named in Fabio Capello's squad to take on Brazil but will now be withdrawn as he focuses on club matters.
