Bayern Munich have failed with an opening offer for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.

Sport says the initial round of talks ended quickly as the €70m bid was deemed unacceptable by Barcelona.

The German club want to bring the French winger back to the Bundesliga but will need to up their bid to around €95m if they want to do business.

Two years ago Barça paid €105m (plus €40m in add-ons) and want the bulk of that outlay repaid.

Alongside Dembele, Bayern are also after Manchester City's Leroy Sane but the English club is reluctant to sell the youngster.

Dembele is open to a Bundesliga return if the right offer comes in, although he doesn't rule out another year with Barça either.
