Bayern Munich fullback Pavard: I know I'm better than Liverpool defender Alexander-Arnold

Bayern Munich fullback Benjamin Pavard insists he's a BETTER player than Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The France World Cup winner feels he doesn't get the same positive press as Alexander-Arnold and PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi.

Pavard, now 25, is a World Cup winner with France and a Champions League winner with Bayern. He joined Bayern in 2019 from Stuttgart, which snapped him up from Ligue 1Lille five years ago. However, he believes despite his success, he is ignored by football critics in favour of the likes of Alexander-Arnold and Hakimi.

Via Fotboll Transfers, Pavard reasoned on Canal Football Club: "Great coaches put me as a right back because they have confidence in my ability.

"It's not because of my beautiful eyes or my hair.

"On paper, Pavard is perhaps less sexy than Hakimi or Alexander-Arnold, but I think I am defensively more complete."

Signicantly, unlike Alexander-Arnold and Hakimi, Pavard isn't known for his attacking qualities. The Frenchman has scored just five goals for Bayern in 87 appearances and managed just ten assists.

In contrast, Hakimi already has three goals and two assists in his first 14 games with PSG.
