Liverpool legend John Barnes is backing their move for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana.
Southampton are determined to keep the talented playmaker at St Mary's, but know it will be difficult after seeing manager Mauricio Pochettino depart for Tottenham and Rickie Lambert link up with Liverpool.
Barnes said: "Lallana would be a fantastic signing, because you know what you are going to get with him. He is a great player.
"I am hoping that he can come [to Liverpool] but if he does not come, good luck to him and we [Liverpool] will move on."
