Barcelona tell Man Utd, Chelsea time to get serious for De Jong

Barcelona have informed Manchester United and Chelsea it's time to make their offer for Frenkie de Jong.

Sport says the Catalans want to sell him for over 80 million euros but the deal will also depend on the player's decision.

Chelsea met with Barcelona on Thursday night to check if his signing was possible and will make an offer in the hours to come. United, who have been pushing for weeks, will improve their offer and make their final bid.

Decisive hours are coming for Frenkie's future. Talks with Chelsea happened while they were also negotiating for Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, who are Barcelona targets. The London club, under Tuchel's will, also introduced the idea of a deal for the Dutchman and the clubs met to discuss a possible deal. In United's case it would be a simple deal, money for the player - something Barcelona are interested in.

What is clear is that Barcelona will only open the door to De Jong leaving if the value of the deal is 80 million or more. Despite what they have said publicly, they are willing to sell him.
