Barcelona striker Lewandowski: I know Messi and I can play together

Robert Lewandowski says he's fully committed to Barcelona.

The striker has been linked with Chelsea in the past week.

He told TVE: "We can be happy with what we've achieved. I'm happy not only for the club or my teammates, but also for the city, for the fans... I'm happy to be here.

"I want to be part of this project. I know that the club needs time, that everything cannot be changed in one or two weeks but I am clear that the future is to be much better. I like how things have evolved. When you're at Barcelona you always have to work to be among the biggest teams.

"What happened to us in the Champions League was disappointing but LaLiga was very, very positive. For the next season both competitions have to be very good. Sometimes the first season for the players is the most difficult, for me it may have been easy but for us, as a team, it was difficult because of the expectations, because we started at a very high level."

On the possible return of Leo Messi after two seasons in the ranks of PSG, Lewandowski also stated: "We have to wait to see if Leo comes to Barcelona. I hope he comes. Maybe something more concrete will be known in a few days. I know that playing with him is very easy, because Leo can play with you from any position on the field, at any time in the game. He is a player that any team would like to have."
