Those close to Barcelona star Lionel Messi deny he's sought to spring Ronaldinho from his Paraguayan jail.

Sport claim that the player is annoyed by allegations that he has a plan to help Ronaldinho leave prison as soon as possible, which his entourage has denied.

"Messi is very sad about Ronaldinho's personal situation, but at no time has he made any economic or judicial movement to remove the Brazilian ex-footballer from jail," Sport published.

"He has not put his lawyers to work on the case nor is he going to pay the four million euros of bail."

Peruvian newspaper Libero had claimed that Messi would pay the four million euros from his own money due to their special relationship having played together at Barcelona.
