Barcelona are maintaining regular contact with the camp of Bayern Munich wing-back David Alaba.

The Austria international is inside the final year of his current deal and talks over new terms have stalled.

Alaba could be on the move this summer and a switch to LaLiga has been mooted where Barca and Real Madrid are keen. Manchester City are also watching developments closely.

Sport says Alaba's minders have made fresh contact with Barca and encouraged them to make an offer. It's been made clear that Alaba would welcome a move to the Nou Camp for next season.

Alaba has been a target for Barca for the past two summers. The coaching staff believe he is a footballer who would adapt perfectly to the Blaugrana style. The only stumbling block has been Bayern's refusal to negotiate.

However given the current contract stand-off, Barca now have the opportunity to snap up the versatile defender.
