Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena has rejected an approach from England.

Currently on-loan with Real Betis, Sport says an unnamed Premier League has made an attempt for the midfielder.

Super agent Jorge Mendes transferred the offer to Barca, which was for €25m plus bonuses.

Alena learned of the proposal and discussed it with his agent, Ivan de la Pena, before turning it down.

The midfielder is happy in Spain and wants to see out the season with Betis before making a final decision about his future with Barca.
