Barcelona are in the market for a new fullback signing in January.
Sport says Barca are considering long-term target Jose Luis Gaya, who Barca sporting director Mateu Alemany views as an interesting and realistic winter market opportunity.
Jordi Alba has not had competition for years and Gaya could change that. He is in negotiations over his contract at Valencia, which expires in 2023.
Nothing has been agreed so far, but Valencia need to raise around 37m euros to ease debts and the captain could be one of the players to be sacrificed.
With just a year and a half left on his deal, Alemany can spy a bargain deal for January.
