Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has told manager Pep Guardiola he wants to leave.
A top target for Barcelona, Mundo Deportivo says Bernardo met with Guardiola towards the end of last season to inform him he felt he needed a fresh challenge.
Guardiola has accepted Bernardo decision and while reluctant to lose the midfielder, accepts the Portugal international could leave this summer.
For their part, Barca chiefs see Bernardo as an ideal addition, though wage demands and City's valuation will be an issue.
Barca must shift players out of the Nou Camp to raise funds before firming up interest in Bernardo.
