Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde was relieved to defeat Las Palmas after Sunday's extraordinary events.
Barca were ordered to play the game behind closed doors during the Catalan referendum chaos.
Valverde stated: "It's a strange, different situation for everyone and it's complicated.
"The club tried to postpone the game. We didn't know if we would play or not.
"It wasn't possible to postpone the game and the club had to make a gesture given the exceptional circumstances in Catalonia. It's very complicated, it's not a simple situation.
"It was an extraordinary act in an extraordinary situation. We played behind closed doors in a delicate moment for everyone.
"We discussed the situation with the president and it's a decision that the club took.
"The impact of an empty Camp Nou is powerful, maybe even more than not playing, although I don't know.
"The situation today is not normal.
"We represent many people and we've got three points and hope that they are happy."
