Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is concerned about the progress of Ousmane Dembele.

Valverde handed Dembele a start for yesterday's 6-1 rout of Girona, but the Frenchman battled to make an impression.

Don Balon says Valverde is concerned whether Dembele's game suits his system and has drawn comparisons with his backroom staff to Gerard Deulofeu's problems in preseason.

Like Deulofeu, now on-loan at Watford, Valverde believes Dembele is also struggling mentally with the pressure of playing on the Nou Camp stage. The coach has urged Dembele to work through his anxiety on the pitch, but yesterday's performance has again raised concerns among staff about the Frenchman's suitability to Valverde's system.
