Catania midfielder Davide Baiocco has defended their fans after complaints from Roma last week.

Roma's players were kept up all night by chanting supporters on Saturday and had their bus pelted with stones on the way to and from the game.

"I believe wars are fought in Iraq and other parts of the world, not on a football pitch," Baiocco told Il Romanista.

"There was trepidation on Sunday, for the team and the city - nothing more."
