Atletico Madrid have knocked Spanish rivals Valencia out of the Europa League after a scoreless second leg saw them through on away goals.

The first leg at the Mestalla ended 2-2 to Atletico and all they needed was a draw at the Vicente Calderon which they achieved after a tense stoush.

The match was not as much of an event as the first leg but there were a few anxious moments although Atletico did make most of the play and created more chances.

Atletico will now face Liverpool in the semi-final where they will come up against their favourite son Fernando Torres who scored a double to see the Reds past Wolfsburg.
