Diego Costa is a confirmed target for Atletico Madrid according to club president Enrique Cerezo.

Following the big-money sale of Jackson Martinez to Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande, Atleti are desperate to bring their former star striker back to the Vicente Calderon.

Costs joined Chelsea from Atletico for £32million in the summer of 2014 but already the Madrid outfit are keen for one of their favourite sons to return.

Cerezo told Spanish radio station Cadena COPE: "We will try everything possible and see what Chelsea say, but it doesn't depend solely on us.

"We always try to bring the best players and Diego is one of them."

Atletico now have money to spend following the Martinez deal and will look to use the available cash by making Costa one of their top summer transfer targets.
