Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone offered no excuses after their Champions League thrashing by Borussia Dortmund.

Atletico were beaten 4-0 by BVB.

Simeone said, "The match was clear. You have to congratulate the rival, which made an extraordinary match, based on speed and strength.

"We started the game driving the pace; in the second-half we were close to 1-1 and they went 2-0 up, we were close to 2-1 and they went 3-0 ... When you have strength, speed in your attack you can pass what happened on this occasion.

"I loved Borussia, it was practical, dynamic, it had speed, verticality and not the useless possession of the ball. You have to congratulate them, they are on a very good road and hopefully they can keep this game because it is very beautiful to watch."
