Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone says he never had doubts about Luis Suarez last season.

The signing from Barcelona helped Atletico win the LaLiga title last term.

Simeone told Marca: "Talking about Luis Suarez is simple, he has always shown it.

"At the moment the option appeared, I knew that the team lacked that forcefulness. There are not many like him. There are few specialists and he is one of them. We understood that if we continued to be solid behind him, he would be closer to responding in the most difficult moments, when he had to appear in the 'Suarez area'.

"I'm not a fortune teller, but I'm a football man and I knew it was his time."
