Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was delighted with their 2-1 win at Villarreal.

A late Saul Niguez goal saw Atletico win on Monday night.

Simeone said: "We are in a place where we only have to win. If you don't win, everything you generate involves criticism. We are exposed. Savic came in well, Azpilicueta was always present, Llorente gave us more space forward, Saúl scored the goal, Correa and Morata gave us more aggressiveness...

"Saul has always maintained the same spirit to work. He has shown humility to accompany the club. Now he plays a little less, but I always keep in mind his ability and he brought out things that we were used to. He scored goals, like Marcos, who has to return to do them because they gave us a lot.

"It makes me very happy to score a goal from a set piece again. There was a time when every set piece smelled like a goal and now it wasn't like that. Axel (Witsel) scored a great goal."
